Shasta-Lake
is located in northern California along Interstate 5, just north of Redding. The city of Shasta Lake is a small, friendly town of approximately 9,000, with a very low crime rate and exceptional quality of life. The lake itself is the largest reservoir in California, with 365 miles of shoreline, surrounded by forests of oaks and pines. Shasta Lake, along with nearby Mount Shasta and the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, brings ample opportunities for swimming, boating, mountain biking, camping and snow skiing. Shasta Trinity National Forest has beautiful lakes and streams for white water rafting, mountains for rock climbing and miles and miles of trails for hiking and back packing. Fishing in Shasta Lake is exceptional, and an annual trout derby is held in the town each year, usually in the month of October. Visitors will find abundance of lodging choices in and around Shasta Lake, from hotels and inns, cottages by the lake, wilderness cabins, RV parks and campgrounds. This is a popular mountain/lake recreational spot, yet still with some undeveloped, pristine shoreline and wilderness areas. Perfect for those interested in active outdoor fun in a peaceful and relaxing setting.

North Central California along Interstate 5 near the town of Redding, has sunny, hot summers and mild to cool winters. Located near the Mount Shasta/Shasta Trinity National Forest, this region's climate varies greatly according to elevation. Summers are usually hot and very dry with temperatures at the lower elevations sometimes climbing above the 100-degree mark. Higher elevations tend to have much cooler temperatures and higher precipitation in summer. Fall days are mild with cool nights. Winter is the rainy season, with an average of 55 inches of rain per year in the lower elevations and snow in the higher elevations. Spring weather can be unstable with both rain and mild, sunny days.
