Sea-Ranch
is located 100 miles north of San Francisco, and is the ultimate in seclusion and a quiet place to escape the pressures of city life. This remote northern California seaside region encompasses more than ten miles of the Sonoma coastline. It offers visitors a private retreat, but with a variety of activities. Located inside the Sea Ranch is the Sea Ranch Golf Links and Lodge. This golf course was designed to blend with the natural environment and was one of the first Scottish Style links to be built in the United States. Other outdoors activities in Sea Ranch include hiking through the redwoods, or hiking the bluffs overlooking the waves crashing against the rocks. More than 40 miles of private roads are available for bicycling, and miles of beach for tide pool exploration. There are recreation centers available inside Sea Ranch that offer swimming pools, saunas, tennis and basketball courts. You can also fish or kayak the nearby Gualala River. A short drive takes you to the picturesque seaside villages of Bodega Bay, Jenner-by-the-Sea and Gualala, as well as the Mendocino and Sonoma County wineries. So, when you're ready for a change of pace, a visit to the Sea Ranch along California's rugged northern coastline may be just what you need.

Sea Ranch Weather & Climate

The rugged northern Pacific Coast, north of the San Francisco Bay Area, experiences a mild climate year round. There is very little variation in temperature from winter, spring, summer and fall. Summers are dry, but typically cool and foggy right along the coast. Further inland, near the Anderson Valley, temperatures will be warmer with more sunny days. Be advised that it can be in the 60s in the Mendocino coast area, and just 30 miles inland the temperature can be in the 90s. Cool ocean breezes and a thick marine layer helps moderate coastal temperatures. If visiting during wintertime, there is a good chance it will rain during your stay. November through March are the wettest months. Fall is generally the sunniest time along the northern Pacific Coast.
