Warner-Springs
is a small community located in San Diego County, well known for being home to a historic ranch and hot springs resort. Just a two hour drive from Los Angeles and an hour and a half from San Diego, Warner Springs is quickly becoming one of the most popular getaway destinations in southern California. Nestled in the foothills of Palomar Mountain, Warner Springs offers wide open spaces and fresh air, invigorating hot mineral pools along with fresh water pools and a wide variety of activities. Recreational opportunities in the area include golf, tennis, horseback riding, hiking, cycling, hang gliding and more. Attractions near Warner Springs are diverse and include the 600,000-acre Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, which is the largest desert state park in the contiguous United States. The park contains two wilderness areas, 110 miles of riding and hiking trails and 500 miles of dirt roads, in addition to sweeping vistas, wildflowers, palm groves and cacti. Other top draws to the area include Palomar Mountain & Observatory, the Pacific Crest Trail, Cuyamaca Lake, the Temecula Wineries, Lake Henshaw and Wild Animal Park. In addition, the colorful, historic mining town of Julian is located near Warner Springs and is known for its apple festivals and the lively Grape Stomp Festa.

The mountains and foothills region northeast of San Diego is one of the only places in southern California that enjoys four seasons. At 4000 feet, the elevation, clean air and blue skies add to the overall beauty of the region. Spring is generally mild and wildflowers decorate the backcountry while a profusion of daffodils is evident throughout the small towns of the area. Average summer temperatures fall in the 80s with occasional summer rains July through August. Most of the summer, however, you can expect clear, sunny skies and dry weather. The first cold spell of fall begins a profusion of color as the trees prepare for a winter and the first rains begin in October. Expect lots of rain, gentle snowfalls and cool temperatures November through March.
